Paid Media Strategist
JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Paid Media Strategist to join our Team. The Paid Media Strategist plays a key role within Steak – you'll be wearing many hats on a daily basis. This role is for someone who has an entrepreneurial spirit, is passionate about all things related to paid search and digital, and cares for their team and their clients like family. In short, if you consider yourself a digital native, curious about exploring the intersection between search marketing, technology, and consumer behavior, then let’s talk.
The primary responsibility for the role will be to understand, communicate and execute all things related to Paid Search and Display Media. We want you to take on responsibility for our clients’ day to day reporting and strategies derived from campaign performance. You'll assist with setup and launch of new campaigns, be involved with the pitch process, and work on building our relationship with the search engines and social networks.
We'd like you to be at a minimum familiar with the best industry practices of paid search. You'll understand the core concepts behind bid and budget strategies, have knowledge of A/B and multi-variant testing, and knows how to pull intelligence from excel and analytics.
You will also be one of the go-to people on all things digital – from strategy to execution to support. You'll understand the basic concepts behind organic search and be able to explain the value that a solid display campaign can bring to an integrated media plan. We’re looking for a generalist – someone who is equally comfortable evaluating and negotiating with vendors, developing relationships with clients, and supporting your team mates – sometimes all in a single day.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- An ability to execute the core fundamentals of paid search and media strategies and communicate them to both technical and lay persons alike.
- Maintain a strong familiarity, if not outright expertise, with Microsoft Excel.
- Solid knowledge of Google AdWords, Bing AdCenter, Dart tracking, and various analytic packages. Kenshoo knowledge is a plus.
- Be knowledgeable in your space by staying on top of current news, industry events, and new technologies.
- Work closely with the SVP Accounts and Directors to conceptualize projects, implement campaigns, and deliver reporting.
- Knowledgeable of various technologies related to the industry, including Analytic tools, bid and search reporting technologies, and research tools.
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and on multiple projects.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Work on multiple projects concurrently, as required, demonstrating a mature ability to handle many things at once under pressure.
- Work independently to identify areas of opportunity and improvement.
- Demonstrate an active interest in advancing the success of our clients.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- You will have a relevant qualification or proven experience in a professional environment
- You will be proficient in in Photoshop, Illustrator and Flash, and have good typography skills.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, After Effects or Fireworks would be an advantage.

SEO Strategist
JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Search Optimization Strategist to join our Team. The Search Optimization Strategist plays a key role within Steak – you'll be wearing many hats on a daily basis. This role is for someone who has an entrepreneurial spirit, is passionate about all things related to SEO, social and digital, and cares for their team and their clients like family. In short, if you consider yourself a digital native, curious about exploring the intersection between search marketing, technology, and consumer behavior, then let's talk.
The primary responsibility for the role will be to understand, communicate and execute all things related to SEO. You'll be involved with our clients in all aspects of their business, from copywriting to day to day reporting to strategies derived from campaign performance. You'll assist with setup and launch of new campaigns, be involved with the pitch process, and work on building our relationship with the search engines and social networks.
We'd like you to be at a minimum familiar with the best industry practices of search marketing. You'll understand the core concepts behind the best available practices of optimization, know how to craft and execute keyword rick on page content, and know how to pull intelligence from excel and analytics.
You will also be one of the go-to people on all things digital – from strategy to execution to support. You'll understand the basic concepts behind paid search and be able to explain the value that a solid display campaign can bring to an integrated media plan. We’re love generalists – someone who is equally comfortable evaluating and negotiating with vendors, developing relationships with clients, and supporting your team mates – sometimes all in a single day.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Convey the core fundamentals of search engine optimization to both technical and lay persons alike
- Be an expert in your space by staying on top of current SEO news, search engine feature and algorithm changes
- Work closely with the Director of SEO to conceptualize SEO projects including but not limited to on-page and off-page optimization initiatives.
- Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and on multiple projects
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Work on multiple projects concurrently, as required, demonstrating a mature ability to handle many things at once under pressure
- Work independently to identify areas of opportunity and improvement.
- Demonstrate an active interest in advancing the success of our clients
- Collecting and interpreting site visitor statistics
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Experience in the SEO space (min. 1-3 Years; not entry level position), managing a combination of search engagements & preferably has worked in a digital agency environment
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript and other programming languages
- Experience in keyword research and build-out
- Strong knowledge of search and criteria of leading search engine algorithms
- Experience with leading traffic and analysis software
- Experience in MS Office suite
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
